The starting point of this work is the gaze and the intention of the gaze. These are landscapes of stunning beauty intruded by the everyday or the dramatic. The views become vulnerable when intervened and altered by the bewilderment and failures of contemporary life.
When the landscape involuntarily turns into scenery, then the artist deliberately seeks that landscape and records it acting as a witness; only the photographic record tells that someone (the artist) was there.
The series Altered Landscapes is a visual experience connected with the surreal, compelling the viewer to reflect about our turbulent times.
